Our Story

OCA 1st Harvest
COOP Logo

In 1957, the organization CCA (Consumer Cooperative Association) officially introduced its Double Circle logo at the Annual Meeting, marking a significant milestone in its brand identity. The label began appearing on products in February 1958 after an extensive two-year design process. The development of the logo was completed in collaboration with Raymond Loewy Associates, a prominent industrial design firm, reflecting a strategic effort to create a modern, recognizable symbol that would represent quality and strengthen the cooperative’s national presence.

COOP Logo Timeline

The COOP logo timeline highlights the organization’s brand evolution from 1929 to today. The first COOP logo appeared in 1935 after the company became the Consumer Cooperative Association. In 1957, the iconic Double Circle logo was unveiled and began widespread use in 1958, remaining a key symbol even after the company became Farmland Industries in 1966. Ottawa Coop later introduced updated branding, adopted its current logo in 2010, trademarked the Double Circle in 2019, and began offering COOP-branded merchandise in 2023.
